About the Artist
Sophie is the artist behind Sophie Mac Studio, a UK-based creative practice rooted in a deep love of nature and traditional craft. A naturally creative person, Sophie has always been drawn to working with her hands, exploring texture, detail, and the quiet beauty of the natural world.
Her pyrography work is inspired by flora and fauna — from wildlife and woodland scenes to delicate leaves and organic forms. Each piece is carefully hand-burned onto wood, embracing the grain and character of the material to create artwork that feels warm, timeless, and connected to nature.
Alongside her art practice, Sophie is also an alpaca farmer and rug weaver. Working closely with natural fibres and animals further influences her creative process, grounding her work in sustainability, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for slower, traditional methods of making.
